An extract of Tahitian vanilla obtained through Supercritical Fluid Extraction with CO₂ (SFE) by Firmenich — a company with over a century of experience in vanilla production. The raw material consists of cured pods of Vanilla tahitensis from Papua New Guinea — the only major world source of this rare, exotic species.

Vanilla tahitensis is an entirely different species from the more familiar Vanilla planifolia (Bourbon vanilla from Madagascar). It contains significantly less vanillin but far higher levels of heliotropin, anisic acid and 4-methoxybenzyl esters — giving it a floral, almost orchid-like olfactive profile, far more complex and refined than the classic gourmand vanilla.
