Lavandula angustifolia, or narrow-leaved lavender, is a classic variety of lavender from which essences and absolutes are obtained. Its scent is intensely herbal with a characteristic sweet (coumarin) finish.

The absolute from IFF has a stronger, more green opening and a darker color of the liquid compared to the absolute from Firmenich (Lavender Pays Abs.). In later stages, their scents are very similar.
