Odor Description: floral-green, rosy-minty, fresh, fruity nuances

A natural essential oil of rose-scented geranium (Pelargonium graveolens), steam-distilled from flowering leaves and stems grown in Madagascar — today's home of the most prized Bourbon chemotype. Produced by the French house Biolandes in partnership with a local grower-distiller.

Where does "Bourbon" come from? It refers to Île Bourbon — the old name for the island of Réunion, where in the 19th century the most highly valued perfumery variety of geranium was developed. Over time production moved to Madagascar (the Antsirabe region), which offered the same terroir — volcanic soils, altitude and climate — and today it is from there that the benchmark Bourbon geranium comes.

It has a floral, rosy, distinctly geranium-like scent with characteristic minty-green, "metallic" accents and a clear touch of freshly crushed leaf. A delicate tea and fruity note lingers in the background. Perfumers consider it the most noble type of geranium — more refined and softer than the Egyptian or Chinese varieties.

Aside from its wonderful scent, the oil also has a beautiful green colour!
