Manufacturer: Ajmal
Odor description: woody-animalic, leathery, dense, powerful, with smoky nuances
A rare and unusual specialty from the world of Oriental perfumery — from the renowned Indian house Ajmal, one of the oldest and most respected producers of oud, founded in 1951 in Hojai (Assam).
Boya is a close relative of classic oud — a distillate obtained from the non-infected parts of the agarwood tree (so-called "white wood" or "bunkwood"). Although these parts of the Aquilaria tree do not contain the precious oud resin, their distillation yields an oil surprisingly close in character to classic oud — with the same woody-leathery core, only in a softer, smoother incarnation.
An excellent, affordable alternative to expensive classic ouds. It performs beautifully in Oriental, woody, leather and ambery compositions, as well as in many other deep and dark olfactive landscapes.
