Every respected company that produces perfumery raw materials has in its portfolio the molecule with CAS number 6790-58-5, colloquially called ambroxan*. Interestingly, depending on the company, the scent of the same molecule can slightly differ. The scent of Ambroxide from Symrise, compared to Ambrox Super from Firmenich, seems to be stronger and denser, but at the same time less velvety.
