Odor description: resinous-ambery, sweet, incense-like, with herbal and floral nuances

Cistus absolute, like the essence, is obtained from its leaves and stems. As is the case with absolutes, it is extracted using a special solvent (solvent extraction).

Its odor profile is more similar to labdanum absolute than to the aforementioned essence. It smells rich, quite heavy, and sweet, with a herbal-floral note. Excellent for all kinds of chypre, incense, woody, or heavy oriental accords.

NOTE: Labdanum and Cistus refer to the same plant, namely Cistus ladaniferus. Cistus pertains to products obtained from the leaves and stems, whereas labdanum refers to products from the resinous gum.
